source: Good Housekeeping

Born on July 27, 1991, Gypsy Rose Blanchard was a seemingly happy little girl who loved her mother dearly. People were under the impression that the girl was struggling with serious illnesses as her mother made several claims of her being unwell. Though, we have come to learn that these claims were in fact untrue and Gypsy was not as happy as portrayed.

When Gypsy was born, her mother announced her baby had sleep apnea. When she was eight years old, Dee Dee claimed her daughter now had leukemia and muscular dystrophy. Gypsy was confined to a wheelchair and relied on a feeding tube. Over the years, the medical diagnoses would continue piling up.

Due to the various illnesses Gypsy supposedly had, she was prescribed a multitude of prescriptions and used a breathing machine when sleeping. She went through countless surgeries including the removal of her salivary glands. Eventually, either due to neglect or the staggering amount of prescriptions, Gypsy’s teeth rotted and were pulled out.
